Molly Pagels of our group has a Great Dane and works here in Omaha with Rocky Mountain Great Dane and Big Dogs Huge Paws.
She might be able to help you or direct you to someone that can help.

So many of you know me as the proud mama of Henry. BUT... over July 4th weekend we gained a Daniff puppy named Ziva.  Henry & Ziva get along GREAT. But I do have some Big Dog questions that I'm not sure can be answered in this forum.

Does anyone have contact information for big dogs? I tried Big Dogs Huge Paws but never got a response. In their own defense... I'm not sure I used a current email address. Seems they are a national club based out of New Mexico so even tho I met some of their peeps at The Green Spot... I can't seem to get a local response.

In case you know someone and can pass on info, this is the deal: Ziva, the Daniff, has vaginitis. It was recommended to me by the vets at The Pet Clinic (who I *love*) to let Ziva come in to her first heat. This would enlarge her vulva and stop the actions that caused the vaginitis. However, Ziva is being difficult. She's now almost 8 months old and no heat yet.

In my studies, it seems that big dogs come into heat late and after a conversation with a vet from The Pet Clinic today, they said 6-8 months is normal but give us a call after 10 months.

My dogs are my babies. If anyone has any information or contacts to toss my way, I would really appreciate it.
