What does it take to produce and create your own film? We break down the steps from development to distribution as a producer and filmmaker
About this event
This is a Multi Day event, your are registering for 3 DAYS
Classes are every Sunday at 9:00AM to 12:00 PM for October 23rd, 30th, & Nov 6th.
The event is IN-PERSON and ONLINE. We recommend IN-PERSON for the best experience, but the online option is still a great choice if you want to stay home.
For online attendees, we will be streaming the event LIVE from the In-person event. You will receive a link in your email 1 day prior to the event.
Space is limited so we require that you be available for all 3 days if you RSVP to this workshop. We do not want the class to be too large.
We will breakdown all the steps that are required to produce your own film, from the initial development phase to building your team and filming your project. What happens after your film is done and what are the next steps? We are here to help.
We will also be available to guide you on producing your own film in the process and screening your film.
This teacher is DFA founder and president Alex Espinoza, who has helped produce feature and short films all over the DFW area. His 10 years of experience working alongside other filmmakers and connections with industry leaders in the DFW have helped him prepare for this course to help get you on your path to creating your film.

Join us to kickoff another round of Flash Films!
Make a film in 6-7 weeks with Comedy!
What counts as Comedy for us? Anything that can make us laugh!
Don't worry about being by yourself, we will help place you in a team. We make the teams at the actual kickoff event.
If you already have some friends, bring them along and perhaps recruit other team members.
All films will be screened at the Angelika Film Center Dallas on June 4th!
This is also a great opportunity for filmmakers who want to try a new position out or make their very first film. We will guide each team towards completion to insure you have a complete film ready to screen.
Our kickoff location will be at Mediatech in Dallas!

Come watch some short films made in 6 weeks! All films are Comedy!
Flash Films are our way of getting filmmakers together and cutting to the chase, filming!
Our members are given a theme, put into teams, and have 6-7 weeks to complete their film.
Teams are made up of individuals working together for the first time and come from all levels of experience. The goal is to get the film done, no matter what.
We believe the best way to learn is to do, and this is our way of pushing for that belief.
The DFA helps teams through production with follow-ups and guidance to ensure they stay on track for completion.
Films that are submitted by the deadline get to screen at our Flash Film Screening.
Flash Film Screenings are an organized event with all the completed productions plus Q&A from the filmmakers.
Kara will compare the differences and similarities between a live action and animation film.
This event is provided to the community for FREE by the Dallas Filmmakers Alliance
