That's going to be hit and miss! It worked on me this time, but it could have just distracted me! hahaha

You're welcome. I think I will employ nudity in all of my conversations on the web from now on. :D

Oh and EVERYONE will be welcome at our conference in the fall. My lazy ass should have that on the calendar soon.

That's a pretty good analogy. I am more than happy to respect your privacy. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

Maybe a meetup at king spa is on order. Then each gender can be naked in their own area without complaints. :D

So you're saying women shouldn't have a safe space then? Or perhaps we are working with more than one definition of exclusion. I guess the closest equivalency I can think of are the women only saunas at my gym. Some women can be naked in front of anybody, some women need a full coverage swimsuit in mixed company, others would be more comfortable naked with women only. We created this space where women could be emotionally naked.

I'm fine with a group like "Black Atheists" existing as long as it allows white people to attend. If a couple white people show up, can't identify with the culture, and end up not having a good time, that's their own problem.

But your description actually says "we do wish to keep this space for women only", which seems to explicitly exclude men.

Aw crap. My post cut off. WoRd was created to make a space for women to discuss issues that are unique to women atheists. If a man showed up at a social meetup he would not be turned away, but the dynamic would change & we want to prevent that. Also, equating our group with a no black/no gay group is equating us with a hate group, which is no more true than saying the Black Atheists were formed simply to hate/exclude gays.

Thanks for asking Chris. I don't like to argue either. First question I have for you is "There are groups like Black Atheists and African American Humanists out there too, do those groups also rustle your jimmies? Why or why not?" I do know those groups don't bother me, because people with a unique set of issues need a space/forum to discuss them. I know I would also be welcome at any of their conferences, although if they had different caucuses for POC and white people I would understand. WoRD

I normally don't get my jimmies rustled too easily, but why would a modern group that advocates reason exclude a gender? Isn't this as bad as a "Whites only" or a "No gays" reason group? I do not like to argue, but I ask this humbly and genuinely.
