Real Steel matches at Dallas Pistol Club

Join us and relax after a stressful work week as we knock over some steel plates!!

We always have a GREAT time at these events! I hope you'll join us for this next one.

--Getting tired of shooting at boring paper targets?
--Want to try something new but not ready for full run-and-gun?
--Want to just try something new?

Than this is the event for you! Steel plate matches are kind of a middle ground between the stand/shoot at a range firing line, and the shoot/move/reload of the IDPA type match.

These steel plate matches have shown to be a great entry point into the world of competition shooting.

More Details:

All competitors begin each course of fire from a standing position within a 3x3 "shooting box."

The steel targets are positioned 8-25 yards away from the "shooting box."

The steel targets vary in size - usually 18"x24" rectangular plates and 8", 10", or 12" round plates.

The match consists of 5 different stages (courses of fire), and the competitor completes each stage 5 times ("5 strings" in each course of fire).

Ammo requirement - minimum 125 rounds (5 stages X 5 plates per stage X 5 strings per stage), most competitors usually bring[masked] rounds.

Note: The range charges $20 for the event.
