What we're about
Welcome, whiskey drinkers! We are so glad that you are here.
This group is about drinking and learning about whiskey, and getting together to have fun. If you are interested in whiskey in any way, this group is for you. We are a friendly group with members from a wide variety of backgrounds. You don't need to be a whiskey pro to join in for any of our events--we are all here to learn. All we ask is that you like whiskey and you like others that do, as well.
For each event, an event host will post in the comments how to find the group and any other information you need to know before attending.
We are happy to see this group continue to grow with new members, and as a result, we want to introduce our revised rules:
***UPDATED RULES – EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 18TH 2018***
1. Group Participation:
If you have not attended any events for over two months, you'll be removed in order to allow for more active members to attend events with an attendee limit. Don't worry! You can join again any time in the future when you're ready to be a part of the group. We have created this rule in order to keep this group small enough that you will be able to meet whiskey lovers regularly.
We know life happens, and you cannot attend an event, so please let the event organizer know if you've RSVPed yes and cannot make it. If you RSVP Yes, and are a no-show on two events, you will be removed from the group. If you are removed from the group due to an attendance policy violation, you will not be able to rejoin the group.
3. Advertising in Discussion Board
We encourage for our members to attend other events outside of our group. If you would like to promote an event that members would be interested in, reach out to an event host to post the event in the discussion board. Do not post in the discussion board promoting other events if not given permission by an event host.
4. Profile picture
In order to find you in an event, make sure your profile picture is a clear and up to date picture of yourself. If your profile picture is a cat, we’re going to assume a cat will be attending (Not really, but you get the idea, post a picture of yourself!)
5. Contacting members
We are a friendly group and we are all here to meet new people, but please remember that this is not a dating app or a dating group. Please feel free to message members that you've met at events and became friends with, but do not message members you've never met previously.
6. Be respectful
If any member’s conduct is deemed inappropriate such as bullying, harassment, exploitation, or acts of hate in an event or via message, let an event host know. We are all here to have fun learning and trying whiskey, and making friends!
Stay up to date with our upcoming events by setting your notifications to alert when a new event is posted. You can also follow us on Instagram @Dallaswhiskeylovers to see photos of our previous events.
