Hey all,

I'll be floating between this meet-up and the Dallas Ruby Brigade talk occurring at the same time. We just opened up a new position at OrgSync for a Front-end Developer and I'm wondering if anyone's interested and would like to talk to us (I attached the job description). I'm also interested in resurrecting the Dallas node.js group [1] (and participating in node knockout [2] as well) if anyone's interested.

Clifton

# Front-End Developer

## About OrgSync

We were founded in 2007, have over 200 universities as clients and are growing rapidly to reach our goal of working with the 4,000+ colleges and universities across the United States and Canada. In the future, we will also be entering other markets that can utilize our dynamic and evolving product. We have an exciting and relaxed corporate culture that values team members' contributions and dedication. Come be a part of our growth.

## Job Summary

You've worked with many programming languages, but you love [the good parts of] JavaScript the most. You have a strong understanding of closures and the prototypal features of the language, and you enjoy writing code that is expressive and elegant. You often come up with innovative solutions to problems but will always use the best tool for the job. You enjoy working in a decentralized, team-based environment, and you're great at getting things done both autonomously and by pair-programming with a teammate.

Most of our code is written in Ruby and runs on the Rails stack backed by a MySQL database, but we also incorporate other technologies such as Node.js, Memcached and Redis. We use GitHub for version control and our infrastructure is entirely hosted via cloud services.

This is a full-time position at our headquarters in Dallas, TX and includes a competitive base salary, a full range of benefits, and stock options.

## Requirements

- Passion for developing excellent software and an appreciation for elegant code
- Very strong JavaScript background
- Strong understanding of browser environments and cross-browser compatibility nuances
- Extensive experience with and preference for jQuery or a similar framework (Zepto, dojo, YUI, mootools, etc)
- Experience developing responsive mobile browser-based applications
- Familiarity with MVC frameworks (Rails experience a plus)
- Strong CSS skills (Compass/SASS experience a plus)
- Open source project contributions a plus
- Ability to play "Careless Whisper" on saxophone a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
