This is a Dallas-based group for anyone interested in the Camino de Santiago in Spain. It's a place where people that are thinking about doing the Camino can ask questions, and those that have done it can share their information.
There are many different reasons as to why people decide to do the Camino - religious or spiritual, fitness, tourism. Regardless of the motivation, we hope that in becoming part of this group members will be able to explore and learn the how, when, and where of this journey. More importantly, to realize that it is very much an individual and personal experience, even if people surround you.
This group is not intended to give you a blueprint of exactly how your Camino should be, but instead to give you good information and feedback that you can take with you and make your Camino as unique and rewarding as it can be.
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano is a great place for Camino training. Let's meet at the restrooms near the parking lot at 10:30 AM and plan to start walking by 10:45. We can talk all about the Camino as we walk.
The Outer Loop Trail is a dirt track with only moderate hills and is about 2.7 miles long. It should take us about an hour. If the ground is muddy, we can walk the 2.2 mile cement track instead. Backpacks and walking poles optional. ;-)
If you're running late and need to reach us, call or text Russell at[masked] or Sara at[masked].
If anyone wants to get something to eat afterward, there are several places in the area.
Hope to see you there!
