- Do you struggle to make space for yourself in the week? - Do you feel like you spend a lot of your time caring for or supporting others, e.g. as a parent, a therapist, a health professional, partner, or friend? - Would you value some regular space in your schedule to explore your own needs and difficult feelings and help you establish a sense of balance?
We are is starting a new weekly group: Making Space for You. From October 2019, members will meet weekly on Thursday mornings.
This group will be an opportunity for you to connect with yourself and others, and learn how to be more authentic and open within these and other relationships. In an environment built to create safety and trust, you will meet other people who are experiencing similar issues to you. You will receive both support and gentle challenge to help you facilitate your personal growth.
Often when we focus our energy on the needs of others, either in our jobs or in our personal lives, we can lose touch with our own feelings, wants and needs, and sometimes even with ourselves. The Making Space for You group will give you the unusual opportunity to create time and space to connect, or reconnect, with the parts that you may have neglected or hidden from yourself and others.
We hear more and more about the importance of self care, but when we are busy it is easy to forget about it. We are better able to be there for others when we are already caring for ourselves, and we can’t give from an empty bottle. This group is a space for you to replenish yourself, examine the reasons why you may find it easier to put others' needs before yourself, helping you take the steps necessary for a more balanced and fulfilling life.
We are recruiting now for the term starting on Thursday 10th October 2019. Please get in touch to arrange an initial assessment to secure your place:
The group will run from E8 Therapy on Kingsland Road, London, E8, near Dalston Junction overground station.
Thursdays 9.30am to 11am, £30 per session, paid half termly.
The venue is only accessible via one flight of stairs, on the first floor.
Please be aware that although this group is private, other members can see that you are a member, which may compromise your confidentiality. Membership of the MeetUp Group does not indicate membership of the Making Space for You group.
(MeetUp Admin please note, no licence is required to run this group in the UK, where it is being delivered and there are other similar groups on MeetUp in London. The facilitators are, however, both qualified and accredited counsellors / therapists.)
