Dance Walking April Flowers

Hi dancing love bugs,

Our next dance walk will be joined by director Brandon Rowen and musician Wiggzaro (one of our first dance walkers) to shoot footage for a collaborative music video for the song “Joy” which our organiser Avi-Esther features on. Anyone who would like to take part in this is totally welcome! AND please invite your friends – the more the merrier.

“April Flowers” has a theme: neon colours, sparkles and animal print!!! We are meeting at St.Paul’s Cathedral and dancing through the Barbican Centre and beyond. We’ll have lots of cameras, so anyone who’d like to shoot footage is more than welcome.

Meeting point St. Paul's Cathedral, outside the main West Entrance.

Should it get too cold or wet, then we'll proceed to spreading our spirit indoors and underground... Please watch out for updates on the day.

What is Dance Walking?

Dance Walking is an art of self expression where we let our soul and body move us freely to music whilst dancing and walking through beautiful parts of London.

It's about being courageous, stepping into your light, freeing yourself and by doing so inspiring others to shine and express themselves freely as well.

How it all started:

We started Dance Walking in summer 2012 after seeing this video from Ben Aaron who found a guy dance walking on the pedestrian walk in NY. When we saw this video, we also got inspired and wanted to take dance walking to the next level by getting groups together and dance walk through London listening to the same music.

The idea behind Dance Walking is about letting go of fear, self judgment and inhibitions, having fun and spreading the love... and did we mention it's so much FUN!

We find dance walking beneficial if you

   •   are looking for a way to overcome your fears and inhibitions

   •   like to feel more comfortable in public

   •   look for a way to express more joy in life

   •   love dancing

   •   love meeting new people

   •   love exploring London

   •   love spreading love

How does it all work?

RSVP: RSVP and either pay £5 for the event online or pay cash to Avi Esther or Lisa after the event. If you change your mind and can't come, please cancel your RSVP so we don't wait for you on the day as this delays our start.

Download the Playlist from our Dropbox: Everyone attending is listening to the same playlist, therefore it's important to download it onto your MP3 player before the event. We publish the playlist the weekend prior to the event. If you have problems with the download please email [masked].

What to wear: Wear comfy clothes and shoes and bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Backpacks and bum bags are ideal because to keep your belongings because they allow you to dance freely.

Meeting point and dancing route: We like to explore new parts of London, so please check the meet-up location in the event details. There is no set route for our event, so we don't know where we end up and we never finish where we start off. We usually do finish near a tube stop though.
If you can't find us please text or call Avi Esther on[masked] or Lisa on[masked] 568.

Check out videos and pictures: We always capture the beauty of our dance walkers during the event via pictures and videos. If you don't want to be in the video or pictures just let us know.

You Tube Channel with videos from our adventures. Get inspired!

Join our Facebook Group and be the first to know when the pictures and videos are ready.

Invitations for you to participate and play in our growing movement:

Fancy experiencing the dance walk through the lens of a camera?
If it’s your joy to capture the magic of life on video and share your perspective, then we’d love to welcome you to be an official (or unofficial, whatever makes your antennae twitch) love bug videographer.  Ideally we’d love a few of you to share this joy, so you can also get your boogie on. If you’re interested please email to [masked]

Would you like to lead the way?
At the beginning of each dance walk, we are going to invite 2 love bugs to collaborate to lead the group through the streets of London. Experience leadership in a safe and easy environment!

Do you have some groovy tunes you’d like to dance walk to?
Upload your MP3s to our Music Requests dropbox folder, notify us via email and we’ll do our best to incorporate everyone’s music into the mix!

Need some encouragement? We know you've got it in you! Embrace the dancing queen and king within you!

"Thanks for the great dance walk yesterday with all of you beautiful people. I had such a fantastic time. I saw the photos today. They're soooooo cool, I've been dance walking all day at work and listened to the playlist twice again during the day and now everyone thinks I've gone nuts. Anyway thanks again and I really hope to see you again soon to spread a bit more love in lovely London" - Dance Walker "Matt"

As we're in a lyrical mood a lovely quote for all you awesome dancing love bugs

“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
    Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.

    Hey Love Bugs!!

Thank you for being patient with us. Avi and I have worked diligently through the evening to bring you all the playlist, so you can download it for our dance walk on Tuesday.

We've also included the single radio edit 'Joy' which we will be shooting the music video for. Please remember we encourage neon colors, animal print, and of course, lots and lots of sparkles!

We'll be meeting at St. Paul's Cathedral, outside the main West Entrance at 6pm.

    See you there!
