What we're about

If you are interested in spiritual, mental, and physical fitness via yoga sessions, meditation, forest healing (shinrinyoku philosophy), hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, beach walking, dancing, kayaking and biking weekends in a stunning setting with intimate groups, this is the meetup for you. The retreats will often be at a beach house on the Olympic Peninsula, but sometimes we will go backpacking and include yoga at a mountain lake or summit.

The focus is on social and quiet time listening to waves and the sounds of the outdoors. People are welcome to join us for dancing at the local casino = which won't be a quiet space = or stay at the house and enjoy the fire and a book or simply relish the sound of the waves from the deck. Star gaze. Engage in deep conversations with others as the group size will be small enough to allow for truly getting to know others.

For the house retreat weekends: 2-4 sessions of yoga (depends on whether our focus is on providing more of a yoga than a hiking experience), two meditation sessions, one forest healing session, five healthy meals, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Sleeping is shared accommodations, but all spots have a view of the water. There are two bedrooms: one with queen bed and no view which is normally where Dave and I will sleep. There is a large bedroom with a fabulously comfy king bed and a comfy queen pullout. There is one shower upstairs but two bathrooms = one downstairs and one upstairs. There is a deck where we hope to hold most yoga sessions. If it's raining, we will need to be indoors on carpet, but can have yoga to the crackling sound of the fire. We often go out to the Seven Cedars casino to dance if the bands are good. You can join in all the activities or do your own thing in the time between yoga sessions. The style of yoga in the evening will be more relaxing than sweat and calorie burning with daytime sessions being more active.

The retreat weekends with four sessions of yoga will cost $250-300 = we will usually hire another yoga teacher for these if we have advanced yoga students. You must pay a deposit of $150 to sign up with the balance due a week before the retreat. We will work on establishing carpools, dietary restrictions, etc before the event.

Any backpacking events we are not usually providing the food/drinks so these are likely to be minimal cost = depends on if we need another yoga teacher or not.

Day hiking is typically completely free other than gas to get yourself to the meeting location.
