We are excited to have Florian Douetteau stopping by to discuss how they won the recent 'Personalized Web Search' competition on Kaggle.  Should be interesting...hope to see many of you there!

Schedule
6:30 - 7:00pm Social (food + beer served)
7:00 - 8:30pm Talk
8:30 - 9:00pm Social

Talk
Dataiku offers an end-to-end development platform for data scientists (free version available for  download); Dataiku’s goal is to  shorten the load-clean-train-test cycles that are time consuming when building predictive models, especially on unclean data. A related goal is to facilitate collaboration on machine learning challenge. We will show what thats means in practice, and then illustrate it with the story of a team that used Dataiku’s tool  and won a Kaggle competition -- personalised search on Yandex. (Paper: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/nickcr/wscd2014/papers/wscdchallenge2014dataiku.pdf

Speaker
Florian is Dataiku’s CEO.  Florian started his career at Exalead, a search tech company, at 20. He stayed there for 10 years, as VP R&D until a $150M exit in 2010. He then worked as CTO at IsCool, a social game popular in France, and in adtech at Criteo (french retargeting company) He founded Dataiku in 2013 with 3 other cofounders. Dataiku's goal is to make the life of the data people (whoever they are) easier.

Just found out that Dataiku only runs on Linux. Any plan to make it available on Windows?

Isn't BerkeleyAMPLabs offering a competing product to Dataiku's? What maybe the points of differentiation that a paying customer might be interested in?

    • Pauline

Hi! Do you have a link to the competing product?
