Quality Storytelling on the Internet

We're excited to host Miranda Mulligan and Joe Germuska from the Northwestern University Knight Lab! Knight Lab advances news media innovation and education. The Lab’s project’s range from professionally developed products used by newsrooms worldwide — like TimelineJS, SoundciteJS, StoryMapJS and others — to experimental prototypes that push digital media boundaries. We’ll talk about our tool design philosophy, as well as share some "lessons learned" from some of our meaningful-storytelling ideation workshops.

Bonus! Joe will demo and talk about Census Reporter, a Knight News Challenge-funded project to make it easier for journalists to write stories using information from the U.S. Census bureau.
