Aside from our weekly Tuesday (https://www.meetup.com/Data-Science-Community-Meetup/events/234855801/) meetups we organize additional workshops (https://denguehack.org/activities/) in the light of our DengueHack.org (https://denguehack.org/activities/) data4good hackathon. (Link to meetup event (https://www.meetup.com/Data-Science-Community-Meetup/events/234857450/))
This workshop will be given by ONTOFORCE and will introduce how the DISQOVER platform can be used to aggregate and link different dengue related datasets by using semantic web technologies. We have set up a dedicated DISQOVER server for the periode of the DengueHack initiative to upload interesting new datasets. These can be enriched with information coming from 110+ public data sources already available in DISQOVER. An example of the available data can be seen by using the following shared DISQOVER search: https://goo.gl/WP6hFk Please note that the link only works if you are already logged in on http://www.disqover.com (http://disqover.com/). Registration is free of charge.
By applying a semantic integration of the new data, new search paths can be followed that hopefully lead to new insights. This workshop will be hands-on and will explain how you can convert a dataset into 5 star open data ( http://5stardata.info/en/ ), ready for linking with other data and ready to do in depth data analyses
