What is your level of experience with Statistics, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning and/or Data Mining?

I have over five years experience building predictive models for the federal government. I have worked on numerous projects with the IRS for audit selection. I have analyzed clinical trial data for NIH to help predict the severity of a disease at first diagnosis. I have analyzed Iraq battlefield data.

What tools and technologies do you use?

My main tools are R, PERL, and SPSS Modeler.

What do you hope to get out of this group?

I just want to meet other like-minded folks and keep abreast of what people are doing.

Introduction

I'm a research assistant professor in the Dept. of Computational Social Science at George Mason University. I've been involved in a number of data analytics projects with the federal government over the years.
