Commonwealth Computer Research, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA is hiring.

Please check out our job posting at or e-mail your resume to We are looking for software engineers and data scientists. We apply data mining, machine learning, and other quantitative algorithms for our clients, and build our solutions into custom software applications. We also specialize in GIS and spatial-related applications. Oft-used tools and languages include Java, Scala, R, JavaScript (ExtJS), and Hadoop / HBase.

Our atmosphere is casual and friendly, and you will join an interesting group of people. We may be able to support remote work from DC for certain positions as well. Because some of our clients require security clearances, our employees are required to be US citizens. We are open to hiring at all levels, from experienced PhDs to interns.

That's a great part of the state to live in. Although seeking a more senior position, I sent my resume to the address provided. Thanks for the post.

Thanks for sending it. We consider senior level applicants sometimes as well. We pretty much just have one job description for everyone.

And yes, Charlottesville is a great place to live.
