It depends on the objective, but Tableau is generally my go-to.

Do you think data visualization is more of an art or more of a science? Why?

What makes visualization such an interesting task is that it is both an art and a science. A visual needs the rigor of data science to be substantive but the creativity of art to effectively convey the information.
