What do you use to process data?

A mishmash of open source software and my rag tag collection of objects, code and scripts. Heavy into R and Python for the computational side of things.

What do you use to store data? SQL / Cassandra / MongoDB etc.

Whatever works for the project at hand. I'm actually looking to learn more about best practices in this area.

What languages / tools help you visualize and explore data?

R, Python and Java are the standard languages in my field. I also deal with MATLAB, but most of projects are easily accomplished with open source tools.

Principal Data Scientist at Gallop Labs - I live and breath Scala + Spark + Hadoop + Graph Theory + Machine Learning. Also a vinyl junkie and always up for a jam in the studio.
