Data to Interactive Reports Using R
Ramnath Vaidyanathan will focus on how R can be used to span the data-analysis-presentation workflow, from fetching data and analyzing it, to communicating the results on the web with interactive visualizations and controls. In the first half of the talk, he will take you through the basics of the workflow and discuss several examples. In the second half, you will have the opportunity to hack on a dataset yourself, and apply some of the ideas learned during the talk.
Ramnath Vaidyanathan is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at McGill University. He holds a PhD in Operations Management from the Wharton School, and has worked at McKinsey and Company. He is addicted to R and has developed two R packages, Slidify and rCharts, both aimed at simplifying the creation and sharing of interactive web-based content with R.
