Let’s Meet Up & Read “Dark Matter” by Blake Crouch
**Book Description** “Are you happy with your life?” Those are the last words Jason Dessen hears before the masked abductor knocks him unconscious. Before he awakens to find himself strapped to a gurney, surrounded by strangers in hazmat suits. Before a man Jason’s never met smiles down at him and says, “Welcome back, my friend.” In this world he’s woken up to, Jason’s life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. And Jason is not an ordinary college physics professor, but a celebrated genius who has achieved something remarkable. Something impossible. Is it this world or the other that’s the dream? And even if the home he remembers is real, how can Jason possibly make it back to the family he loves? The answers lie in a journey more wondrous and horrifying than anything he could’ve imagined—one that will force him to confront the darkest parts of himself even as he battles a terrifying, seemingly unbeatable foe.

What we're about

Join us for books and brews! A book club for people 21+ in Central Florida area (however most of us live in Davenport/Champions Gate area) that are looking to read badass books and go out for a drink and dinner.

Details on book selections below a minor PSA.

*Please keep your RSVPs up to date. We like to keep our reservations accurate. If you fail to keep your RSVPs up to date, or no-show with no prior notice, you will be removed from the group. If you RSVP no, change a reservation prior to the event, or message us letting us know you cannot come, you will not be removed or punished in any way, unless it becomes a habit that negatively affects the group. We just want to make sure our reservations are as accurate as possible.

Every few months we invite members to bring book suggestions for selecting our topics for the future months. On our first meetup we came up with general guidelines for choosing books but please mind, these guidelines are non-binding. We have broken all of these rules. So do not hesitate recommending a book if it does not fit the description below. This is just a starting point.

Very general guidelines:
1. We read fiction, generally in the genres of thriller, fantasy, horror or mystery.
2. We read books written for adults. Many other book clubs focus on YA and we wanted to try something different.
3. We read standalone novels. We want to provide members a variety of books, and not get stuck one on author or storyline.

Again, we have broken each and everyone one of these rules. These are general guidelines.

PLEASE NO SOLITICITATIONS ON DISCUSSION OR EVENT PAGES!!! Personal messages to the group organizers suggested Books are allowed but any soliticitation on an event or discussion will be deleted!!!

Every other week or month we will get together at a restaurant (preferably one with a happy hour) to grab a drink and talk about our book selection and whatever else comes up!

I started this group because I am a 28 year old that moved to this area recently and would like to meet some other like-minded individuals to chat and have fun with. Looking forward to meeting some cool people!
