This is a special bonus ABQ Death Cafe for the month of July. Michelle Chang, a current student of Stanford University, has been involved with Death Cafes in Northern California for the past year. She's coming to Albuquerque, and asked if she could meet with "regulars" of our group. Here's what she wrote to me:
"In commemorating a high school friend who died a year ago, I won an award from Stanford to host a "traveling death cafe" of sorts. This summer, I am driving across the country to attend and host death cafes, and overall talk with folks about death. One of my stops will be in Albuquerque in early July. I have found myself profoundly moved by the potential of these intimate conversations to openly confront both our shared humanity and mortality, and to moreover bring people together."
So, we are holding this special gathering at my home on Wednesday, July 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to meet Michelle Chang and learn how they're holding Death Cafes in California. Hope you can join us!
