Come join us for a photo walk through Historic Fourth Ward Park, a brand new green space built where abandoned warehouses and decrepit parking lots once languished.
A short walk from Fourth Ward Park is a first-class Skateboard Park. Here you can take action shots of highly-skilled skateboarders as they negotiate the ramps, twists and jumps of this challenging and popular attraction.
Those who want to explore further can take a stroll on the adjacent Eastside Beltline where cyclists, dog walkers, joggers, and families relax and play in this refurbished urban landscape.
We will gather again by the pond at 12:30 PM to go have lunch at nearby Eats on 600 Ponce de Leon Avenue.
Free on-street parking is available on N. Angier Ave, off North Avenue at the Masquerade. Additional parking is available along Morgan Street, Garden Park Drive, Dallas Street and Rankin Street.
NOTE: At this time, official Beltline access in the area is only available from Skateboard Park. There is no direct way to get from the Beltline down to 4th Ward Park where our cars will be parked. You can do an "out and back" walk from Skateboard Park in either direction along the Beltline, return to Skateboard Park, then walk back to 4th Ward Park.
The above map shows a purple path connecting 4th Ward Park to Skateboard Park. It is not open yet! Instead, to get to Skateboard Park, walk through 4th Ward Park to the southern end at Ralph McGill Boulevard, turn left and then right onto Ashley Ave. Walk south on Ashley to Willoughby Way, turn left and Skateboard Park will be straight ahead. You can walk from our starting point at 4th Ward Park all the way to Skateboard Park in under 15 minutes. We will be there to answer any questions you have and offer shooting suggestions. See you there!
