The Dragon*Con Parade is one of the great annual events in Atlanta. Held Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend, the parade offers a visual feast with 3,200 fantasy and science fiction fans in elaborate costumes, as well as other traditions such as the Periodic Table Parade of Elements (Slogan: WE MATTER.)
Staging at North Avenue Presbyterian Church at North Avenue and Peachtree Street (but you must have a paid ticket/wristband to Dragon*Con to enter the staging area) Across the street from the staging area, or just outside the staging area, are good spots.
MAP and information:
The parade starts moving at 10 AM, so it is wise to arrive around 9 AM to save your spot along the curb near the parade start. The crowd watching the parade is estimated at 80,000! You can expect the sidewalk to be packed with people by 10 AM.
GETTING THERE: Take MARTA to the North Avenue Station, or pay to park near the Fox Theatre, one block from the Staging Area.
