Have you been wondering what all the fuss is about? Join us in an introductory TIG welding class.
Students will learn the basics of cutting, welding, its application, and safety. We will cover angle grinding, cutting with a band saw, basic info on types of welding and welding machines. We will be practicing on mild steel and making a cube to gain some competence in TIG welding. We will discuss TIG applications and welding different types of metal.
All welding takes time to learn and many years to master. So, be patient with yourself. Learning the basics is where to start. No matter your skill level welding is fun and rewarding and allows the fabrication of a wide range of projects.
TIG (GTAW - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) is a welding process that allows very high quality welds, even on thinner metals. Welding with TIG is the cleanest process with little to no splatter.
Student must wear natural fiber clothes (100% cotton, leather, hemp, bamboo, linen, etc) and shoes. Closed toed leather shoes (no mesh). Covered arms and legs (long sleeves and long pants).
If you have your own safety equipment you can bring it. Bring reading glasses if needed (must see up close).
