Has your tween or teenager shown interest in woodworking? Here is the perfect intro class for them. They will make a toolbox/carry case to take home. Students will have the opportunity to use the miter saw, drill press, and the oh so cool Glowforge laser cutter/engraver to decorate and customize their projects with their names.
Safety, will be primary focus of the evening as we review the best practices while using power tools. Safety equipment will be provided; safety glasses and hearing protection).
Open to ages: 10-17 years old

Cost, includes all materials and equipment:

= $30 for members of Decatur Makers (Members, please pay full price and we'll reimburse you the difference at the class.)
= Closed toed boots/shoes
= Long pants and long sleeves or tee shirt (not too loose-fitting)
= Long hair must be tied back
The instructor, Char Miller-King has been an avid woodworker for fifteen years, building projects large and small from beds to desks and everything in between. She works from her home workshop where she also teaches her four children how to build.
