DIY Self Watering Garden for Middle Schoolers

Location image of event venue

Parents of middle schoolers, your child is invited to use their imagination and creativity as we create a DIY SELF-WATERING GARDEN using a Plastic Keg. Feel free to bring the whole family to join in the fun!

Do not rub your eyes, double-take or squint you read it correctly. This hands-on project uses a keg to make a garden that the whole family will enjoy. First, the plastic keg will be deconstructed in preparation to become a functional SELF-WATERING GARDEN able to water whatever plant we decide to plant.

Secondly, they will construct the garden using scissors, nylon rope, and a variety of soil-less hydroponic growing medium while using a parfait style of gardening. A few surprises have been left off only to tease the imagination.

Max number of students in the class: 8
Student age: Middle school youth
