Let's squeeze in one last meetup before the votes are counted the following Tuesday.
There are two topics that I would like to focus on for this event:
Why is it important to you that your chosen candidate for president wins? Let's explore the rationale for our reasons behind voting for Johnson, Obama, Romney or none-of-the-above. Is it personal? For your family and their futures? Superficial? Protest vote? And how do the Electoral College influence these reasons, if at all? On a local level, is there one particular California proposition that you want to see win or get defeated? For a helpful discussion of these, click on this link (http://www.scpr.org/events/2012/10/18/props-and-pints-its-know-your-ballot-party/) for a replay of a KPCC program with Patt Morrison and her panel of experts (http://www.scpr.org/events/2012/10/18/props-and-pints-its-know-your-ballot-party/). Or for a list of the propositions to review, click here (http://elections.latimes.com/voterguide-2012/). As an added bonus, my mom is back in town and will be a participant from the swing state of Virginia. I don't know if she's voted already, but I sure hope so since she'll be in California on Tuesday!
I hope many of you can make it for this last gasp before our next four-year hiatus. It should be fun, lively and delicious - because we'll be back at the West LA Grill (formerly Dolores Restaurant) in the back room. Bring your appetite and your opinions!
