New Delhi, New Delhi
Raahgiri has now become a Sunday morning ritual for the many Dilliwallahs who head to CP every week to skate, cycle, jog and dance. An initiative organized by the Delhi Police and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) along with Embarq India, it is supported by The Times of India.
This Sunday morning began with a jazz funk workshop, followed by a fitness drill by CRPF personnel, who displayed self-defence tactics and their prowess in Wushu, a Chinese martial art form.
AP Maheshwari, IG, Northern Sector, CRPF, who was present at the venue, said, "There were two reasons to participate in Raahgiri. We want people to know their peacekeepers, and also tell them about the importance of learning self-defence techniques. This participation served a dual purpose. Since the Independence Day is around the corner, it will enforce positivity and create a patriotic atmosphere."
Ishaan Gambhir, a corporate employee from Gurgaon, told us, "Sundays were usually spent in vellapanti and laziness. But coming for Raahgiri is a nice way to start your Sunday."
Lets Come out and join us on sunday for Raahgiri....
