This is for all of you who desire longevity, vitality and want to delve into the study of taijiquan. We will be meeting with Lic. Acupuncturist and Taiji instructor Nick Kusturic. Nick is a long time student of 19th generation Chen Taiji lineage holder Grandmaster Zhu Tiancai and Master Kam Lee of Jacksonville, Florida. Learn this beautiful ancient Chinese practice, with graceful meditative movements that help maintain physical health, well-being and spiritual vitality. Anyone can learn, all ages, and levels of fitness are welcome. If there are any medical conditions, injuries, pregnancy, etc. please consult with your doctor prior to attending. Please bring fluids to stay hydrated and dress appropriately as many of the classes will be held outdoors.

Develop your energy through Qigong & Taijiquan

In this by donation class, we will be covering elements of qigong and taijiquan, with an emphasis on internal development. Through relaxation of the joints and proper body alignment, you will learn how to utilize your posture to increase energy, become more aware of it, and learn how to move it. I will be guiding you through basic qigong & taiji movements, both in form (static/dynamic) and partner drills. To quote Harvard Medical Schools Tai chi program, the practice "improves mindfulness and focused attention, strength and flexibility, the use of visualizations and intent increases therapeutic and physiological effects, functional sequences across many systems improves structural integration, it is a meditation in movement that actively initiates the relaxation response, improves breathing allowing for more efficient gas exchange while massaging the internal organs, it creates social support and community, proven to be effective for cancer, heart disease, depression, and anxiety." I also find this to be a spiritual practice both in form and philosophy. I don't want to forget that with all its benefits, it's also a lot of fun to do!
