Introduction to Meditation & Buddhism
Join us for this DONATION introduction to Buddhist Meditation. Do you dwell on the past or worry about the future? Does your mind feel like a hurricane sometimes and keep you up at night? Have you ever felt alone or disconnected? Wish you were more in control of your thoughts and emotions? Meditation can ease anxiety, reduce stress and improve sleep. A daily practice can help you process information and emotions more effectively and enhance focus. It can curb PTSD symptoms and reduce recidivism rates in those suffering from drug and alcohol addictions. But there are some side effects. Meditation can also create feelings of empathy and compassion for others. It can even help you better manage emotions and form deeper relationships with others. The problem is that many people have the wrong idea about what meditation is. They think that they can’t do it. They become discouraged because they can’t stop their minds. The fact is that anyone can meditate and experience the benefits of a practice. The Dharma Project was created to make it easy for people to learn more about meditation and Buddhism. We provide free meditations, introductions to meditation, Buddhist discussion groups, 12 step Buddhist recovery meetings and community outreach in a casual and inclusive environment. Our goal is to help others by showing them a path to relieve suffering and unlock lasting joy and serenity. Please register online at TheCenterDelray.com

Adam Katzen was first exposed to meditation and Buddhism almost 20 years ago while working at Club Med after college. He began to meditate in the 90s but his practice fell off after returning home to Maryland and starting a career in marketing. Over the next nine years he practiced on and off, but most of his time was focused on professional success. Eventually realizing that business accomplishments weren’t making him happy, Adam decided to move to Vail, CO and spent the next six years deepening his practice and playing in the mountains - rock climbing, backpacking, snowboarding and mountain biking. While fun, the adventure didn’t yield sustainable serenity. Something was still missing. After a few more years searching for contentment externally - only generating more suffering in the process - Adam decided to abandon the life he had been living and dedicate himself to following a more spiritual path. Last year Adam moved to California to study, sit and learn more about himself. After becoming involved in The Dharma Bums Temple and a nonprofit called The Meditation Initiative, he became clear that his purpose was to help others by showing them a path to relieve suffering. He began to lead meditation and Buddhist discussion groups in treatment centers, community organizations and businesses. Moving back to Florida earlier this year, Adam began The Dharma Project nonprofit as a way to help others learn more about meditation, mindfulness and Buddhism. He is currently working on a curriculum for mindfulness based corporate executive leadership training and still consults in his spare time, but his main focus is to spread the seeds of mindfulness, compassion and service.

Inner Journeys: Guided Meditations for Your Soul!

1st Monday of every month; 7-8:30pm

Re-connect with the healing energies of your soul!

Meditation is a gateway practice that can facilitate quantum leaps in personal evolutionary growth. Master teachers from every generation have taught that the secret to transcendence lies in the breath and the imagination. We all chose to re-enroll in the University of Life for the purpose of personal transformation and self-mastery. Collectively, we are awakening to realize that true transformation is an internal process. Our external, worldly experiences are a direct result of how we collectively and individually think. We create our realities by passionately setting and committing to our intentions, therefore, if we want to change our world, we must first change our thought process. Meditation is a divine tool that can enhance our ability to create the world of our dreams. Keith will conduct meditation classes and series that will help us to deep dive, energetically into the arcane areas of our being. Many who have experienced these meditations have had truly magical/transformative experiences. Within each of us we possess all we need to realize success, prosperity, happiness and joy in this lifetime. We simply need to remove self-imposed barriers and begin discovering and utilizing our amazing talents. Success is a Choice.

Keith Everett Brooks, Founder of Entranced Soul-lutions (http://entrancedsoul.com), Life/Soul Coach, Meditation Coach, is in partnership with The Sagely Willow for the purpose of spreading Light and Love. Keith shares his gifts of guided meditation with us the first Monday of every month.
