We scoured behance (https://www.behance.net/)—the leading online platform to showcase & discover creative work—and selected a five local artists to share their projects and stories with us. Each artist will have 10 minutes to share some favorite pieces and how they created it. Please join us to support our local artists, and to hear the stories behind their amazing artwork.

In addition to this exciting line-up, we will be giving away a one-year subscription to the Creative Cloud! This is not a meeting to miss.

Cody Courmier—Specializes in motion graphics and short films (behance portfolio (http://bit.ly/1TQxmwG))

Bio Cody Courmier is a dedicated motion designer, graphic designer, illustrator, artist, and creative professional for a multitude of media, including feature films, commercial enterprises, and print. Currently living and working in Denver, Colorado, Cody focuses on storytelling through motion design and video. Most notably, he has created main title sequences for feature films such as Del Playa and The Mirror Game as well as commercials for companies such as ConocoPhillips, Marriot, Kohler, Berger Brothers Entertainment, Icelerate Films, Habitat for Humanity and many more. In addition, companies such as Apple and Under Armor recently sought Cody out to join their motion design teams. In 2014, Cody won FIVE Gold Remis from Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival for various projects he created. Educationally, he attended Sam Houston State University and graduated Cum Laude in 2009. A few years later, he pursued a Masters in Motion Media Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. Upon graduation in 2015, Cody was awarded SCAD’s highest honor given to one graduating student (out of ~3,000 students)—the Excelsus Laureate award. All of these accomplishments are the result of a passion for the arts and opportunities that he obtained from many that supported him throughout the years. Cody is an avid learner and devout student; he believes that in this creative industry, one must continually apply themselves to evolving and learning.

Synopsis Motion Design is more intertwined in our culture than ever before. From commercials, movies, explainer animations, concert and web graphics, motion design is a blend of graphic design, animation, and filmmaking to visually tell a compelling story. Cody will be speaking briefly on Adobe software used for motion design processes such as After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Bio Born and raised in North Carolina, Travis Bartlett is the founder and CEO of BARTLETT creative LLC. He has always been passionate about helping those around him, preserving life's moments through photography, and making an impact through design. He took those passions around the world, capturing the heart of humanity through missions in Africa, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic. His professional path led him back to his Alma Mater of East Carolina University as a Visual Arts Specialist; shortly after, he took his craft to Ketchum, Idaho, as a Graphic Designer at Smith Optics. Travis currently works and lives in Denver, Colorado, with his beautiful wife, Maggie. His focus and drive continues to be creating beauty in the world.

Synopsis Start to finish, designing and understanding the difference between sublimation and woven snow goggles. Travis will dive into the different between woven straps and sublimation straps. He will share the difference to designing and working in Illustrator vs. Photoshop to achieve cool goggle designs!

Adam Vicarel—Graphic Design, Typography & Illustration (behance portfolio (http://bit.ly/1TQy3pM))

Bio Originally from Cleveland Ohio, Adam Vicarel is a designer, artist and avid traveler. Adam specializes in branding, and the creation of illustrative typography of which is used for advertising, apparel and packaging design, branding and numerous other applications. Working with brands big and small, Adam's vast international travels and experiences have shaped his personal aesthetic. When not freelancing at other agencies, he currently works out of his studio at home and continues to find daily inspiration from the beautiful life that Denver, Colorado provides.

Synopsis Adam will talk about designing and executing a mural—he will take you through the process of turning a small pencil sketch on paper into a 170square wall-piece that can completely alter the experience of an interior space.

Bio Kevin Bauman is a Denver based photographer specializing in architectural, interior, and industrial photography. He is better known, however, for his personal, documentary style, projects such as 100 Abandoned Houses (http://www.100abandonedhouses.com/). Kevin's photography has been used by a wide variety of architectural and interior design clients, as well as commercial and industrial clients, and has appeared in numerous publications.

Synopsis

Michael Dusing—Senior UX Designer of Apps (behance portfolio (http://bit.ly/1TQxAE1))

Bio Michael currently works as Senior UX Designer of Apps at Gaiam in Louisville. He designs the experience for Yoga Studio by Gaiam on iOS, tvOS, Android and Windows 10, as well as, Meditation Studio by Gaiam on iOS. Michael is also the product lead for So Let's Roll, a local event posting and discovery iOS app. he is the organizer of Develop Happy Hour, a Meetup for Denver tech and startup professionals. When he is not designing look for Michael enjoying the Denver craft beer and foodie scene.
