Are we all unpaid employees of Facebook, Google, and Tesla? Probably. Companies are using *our data* to create massive profits.
How can we protect and share in the profits of our data in the world of big tech? How can we "Own our data"?
Joe Toscano of the Better Ethics and Consumer Outcomes Network (BEACON) leads us in an interactive learning experience on data privacy.
BEACON 's purpose is to create a better future, through technology by translating technology's ethical dilemmas into positive-sum business solutions—outcomes that work both for consumers and the companies’ bottom line.

About The Workshop:
Is privacy on the internet dead? This experience will engage audience members with an interactive conversation surrounding the current state of privacy that will enable them to have a voice in shaping the future of privacy regulation. The outcome of this workshop will be a mini policy whitepaper bringing the public's voice to policymakers' desks, as well as a unique digital platform for participants to remain engaged with the process post-workshop.
This event is being held in partnership with Learning Experience Design CO: http://meetu.ps/c/3sCmP/5g3yb/a (registration through either meetup will secure your spot).
