• Geo in the Elastic Stack

    Enterprise Coworking

Geospatial data is everywhere. It's there when you're monitoring the source of a denial-of-service attack in real time. Or mapping the top cities that drive your web traffic. Or querying the number of taxis available in the Chicago Financial District in the past 5 minutes. Location is integral to almost all search experiences. The Elastic Stack has powerful geospatial capabilities, from search to analysis to interactive maps. Learn how you can use the Elastic Stack to capture the value of your geo data, without the need for specialized geospatial applications. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend. *** Event Agenda *** 11:45AM - 12:00PM Check-in & Networking 12:00PM - 1:00PM Presentation and Q&A *** Speaker's Bio *** Nathan Reese is a developer at Elastic on the Kibana team. He is part of the Maps team that develops the Elastic Maps kibana plugin

Have you ever wondered what the latest buzzword AIOps really means? If you answered yes, you don’t want to miss this meetup. We will discuss AIOps and demonstrate the value of using Elasticsearch Machine Learning in an integrated approach with Ansible for automated anomaly detection and self-healing. The presentation will start with an introduction of the Machine Learning feature of the Elastic Stack followed by an in depth discussion of real world use cases, architectural design and a demo of an application of Elastic Machine Learning for AIOps based on a solution developed by ASG. *** Event Agenda *** 5:30PM - 6:00PM: Networking 6:00PM - 7:00PM: Presentation 7:00PM - 7:30PM: Q&A and Networking *** About the Speakers *** Dusty Smith is the CTO of a local technology company, ASG, that has a history in integrating infrastructure and datacenters. ASG is now pioneering automation and machine learning for DevOps solutions in the datacenter. Dusty has worked with ASG for over 13 years as a datacenter architect and solutions engineer building large scale storage and compute platforms. Dusty is now involved in the development of an automation solution call AVA that utilizes the Elastic Stack and Ansible to create “No-Ops” solutions for the modern datacenter. Matteo Rebeschini is a Solutions Architect at Elastic, where he works with customers on architecting real-time security analytics solutions using the Elastic Stack. Matteo has 18+ years of experience in the cybersecurity industry covering various roles, from software engineering to technical product management and more recently consulting and solutions architecture.

  • Elasticsearch: What is it? What does it do? How might I benefit?

Join us at the first Elastic meetup of 2019 and our fist official meetup in Boulder. We would like to thank you Rule4 (https://www.rule4.com/) for letting us use their amazing space for our Boulder meetups. *** Presentation Description *** Elasticsearch is an open-source, scalable, distributed search and analytics engine. Most people know Elasticsearch as a the de-facto standard for application search use cases. What many may not know is how the Elastic Stack (known by many as the ELK stack) has evolved to become one of the most used platforms for logging and more recently for full-stack observability thanks to the improved support for metrics and the addition of application performance monitoring features. During the presentation Matteo Rebeschini, Solutions Architect at Elastic, will discuss the evolution of the Elastic Stack, highlight and demonstrate some of latest features and go over different best practices and deployment options. Pizza and craft beers will be provided. *** Agenda *** 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Networking 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Presentation 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Q & A

  • First Look: Full Stack Monitoring of Java Apps on PCF with the Elastic Stack

Our next meetup is a joint meetup with the Colorado Cloud Foundry Meetup group. Please RSVP on their page: https://www.meetup.com/Colorado-Cloud-Foundry-Meetup/events/254864856/ Real User Monitoring (RUM), Application Performance Monitoring (APM), space and app logs, BOSH logs and metrics, underlying infrastructure metrics... There is so much log and metrics data to collect, visualize, and take action on from your Applications and PCF environment. Typically this is collected and logged into a number of different tools that rely on manual correlation via "tool hopping." Stephen Brown will provide a first look at what this could like when all the data is collected and visualized into a single tool, the Elastic Stack. Stephen Brown is a Sr. Principal Solutions Architect at Elastic. He came up through the software engineering ranks and ended up as Vice President of Software Engineering at the data and analytics company CoreLogic where he built a core dev team as part of the Innovations Labs to deliver cloud native apps and services on top of Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Now at Elastic he gets to indulge in his some of his favorite pastimes… brewing a tasty cup of espresso and ingesting, analyzing and visualizing interesting data sets.
