For this volunteer opportunity, we will be working in the Food Bank warehouse helping with the distribution of food. Distribution is the area where the Food Bank needs the most help.
After workign, we will find a place to grab lunch and mingle for those that would like to socialize.
Food Bank of the Rockies - Warehouse, 10700 E 45th Ave., Denver, CO 80239
Distribution consists of pulling and building orders from the warehouse inventory for food bank member agencies.
*This does require the ability to lift boxes and cases.
Parking: Watch for the big Food Bank of the Rockies sign and turn in our parking lot at 10700 E. 45th Ave., just north of I-70 and east of Havana, between Embassy Suites and Denver Mattress on the south side of 45th Avenue. Here’s a map of our location.Park on the east side of our building between the Volunteer Parking signs.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Plan to arrive 10 – 15 minutes prior to your scheduled shift start time.
Park behind the building and Near the ramp by dock door #1 on the northern end of the east side of the building, you’ll see a Volunteer/Agency entrance. Come inside and follow the yellow and black striped line on the floor to the Volunteer Area with the big purple wall. There you’ll see a table where you can sign-in and create a name tag. Have a seat and we will put you to work shortly!
How do I get there (directions)?
Our address is 10700 E 45th Ave, Denver CO 80239. You can see us from I-70 & Havana, and we are located between Embassy Suites and Denver Mattress. Follow the signs for volunteer parking on the east side of the building and enter in the door marked for volunteers!
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of your shift.
What should I wear to volunteer?
Come dressed appropriately for warehouse work. This includes wearing: Closed toed shoes, (no sandals please - comfort is also important - you'll be on your feet for several hours) and shirts with sleeves (no halters or mid-drift shirts please.)

Do I need to register in advance or can I just walk in?
We ask that you fill out the volunteer application at least two weeks in advance to ensure plenty of time for us to schedule you. If you are looking to volunteer with us during the holiday season, please contact us a few months before as it is a popular time and fills up quickly!
Where can I store personal belongings while volunteering?
We only have limited space for storing personal belongs. We recommend that you either not bring such items with you or leave them locked in the trunk of your car for safe-keeping until the end of your shift.
Youth volunteers accompanied by a parent must be 14 years or older!
