    Yes, it may be snowing, but you should be dreaming of warm days feeling the pedals under your feet. OUTspokin' will be moving into high gear with the season kickoff party on Wednesday, April 24th at 6 PM. The party will be with our friends at the Mercury Cafe, located at 2199 California St., Denver. So make sure you SAVE THE DATE!! More information will be racing your way as we get closer to the date.     2019 Season Kickoff Ride! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 27th at 9am. We'll all meet at the REI Starbucks on the bike path, and will break into 3 groups. Green (going to Hudson Gardens and back) Blue (going to Golden and back because of work being done on the south platte) Black (going to Golden, up Lookout Mountain and back). Remember to bring your helmet, water, snack and warm clothes (you never know what Colorado weather will be like)! We've never (that we can remember) cancelled our Kickoff Ride but, if it's raining, icy or under 40 degrees, we will likely reschedule. Be sure to check your email as we get closer.     A club favorite for years, we are doing Carter Lake again this year. The ride will start at the Hygiene Elementary School and head to Carter Lake. The Blue group will loop around Carter Lake and back to Hygiene. The Black group will head on to Masonville before turning and coming back to Hygiene. We will start the ride promptly at 9 AM, so make sure to arrive early enough to depart on time! The ride will be 37 miles for Blue, 49 for Black. Join us for this ride around Carter Lake.   • Mellow Monday - Tour de Congress Park + Ice Cream

    Mellow Mondays is a series of rides for all riders. These are leisure, social rides around the metro area that will mix a fun theme, food / ice cream and some biking! Helmet required! :) The season's inaugural Mellow Monday will take you on a tour of one of Denver's oldest neighborhoods --- Congress Park. You'll get to see the earthy craftsmanship of the bungalows along side the stately Denver squares. Interspersed will be Victorians and historic buildings you wouldn't expect in the middle of the neighborhood. We will cruise Congress Park itself as well as Cheeseman Park discovering the bone chilling truth to their past. We will explore some of the surrounding neighborhoods as well before returning to have ice cream at one of the best hidden secrets in Congress Park --- Sweet Cooie's. We will start the ride promptly at 6 PM, so make sure to arrive early enough to depart on time! The ride will be mostly flat and < 15 miles in length.   • Castle Rock - Palmer Lake (BLUE / BLACK Ride)

    This weekend, we are heading south for a change in scenery! We will meet in the Safeway parking lot at 880 S Perry St, Castle Rock, CO 80104 *Don't park next to the Big O Tires*** To get there from Denver take I-25 south to Castle Rock. Take exit #181 (Plum Creek Parkway) and go left (east) .2 miles to Perry St. Turn right approx 1/2 blk to Rio Grande Drive and turn left into the shopping center. If you enjoy wildlife, this is the ride for you. Llamas, alpacas, buffalo, cows, horses, bald eagles are the standard fare but we've also seen camels and elephants that graze during the Renaissance Festival. The Black riders will go to Palmer Lake while the Blue riders will turn and head back. We will likely try to get lunch afterwards so come prepared to change and get something to eat!
