Welcome all High Functioning Young Adults with ASD! Finally a group just for you. This meet up group provides young adults with high functioning autism a space to socialize, practice communication skills, and develop independence in a welcoming and supportive community. We know it is easiest to stay at home and watch TV/movies or play video games.  We also know that when you have a welcoming group that supports you instead of judging you that you are more likely to try new things and learn new skills.  Our meet ups are developed to support new learning of social skills and provide an environment to practice those same learned skills.  You will be happy to share new adventures with like-minded peers.

Each meet up will include a brief structured lesson focusing on a specific social skill. Lessons may utilize techniques such as: a relevant social story, modeling of the social skill(s), and guided practice. Participants then have time to interact with peers (with or without support) while participating in a variety of activities.  Some weeks we may meet at the local library, other weeks we may meet at a museum downtown.  We believe that the more our ASD Socialites are able to experience, the more their world opens up, and more opportunities for happiness and success are available to them.  We strive to have at least 2 meet ups a month (hopefully 4 per month).

How do you know if you are an ASD Socialite? If you are an individual on the autism spectrum looking to have fulfilling and engaging social experiences.  If you are looking to expand your 'comfort zone' and meet new people who will support your continued success. If you are looking to learn or practice social skills that will help you get or keep a job, share your talent with other people,  or in developing or enhancing relationships with your peers.

In an effort to get to know all of our new members please share with us.

• What are your hobbies/interests?

• How often do you go out with friends (in-person activities)?

• What fears do you have when you have to meet new people?

• Do you currently have a job?

• What are your job/career goals?

• What are your relationship goals?

• What causes you to be uncomfortable when in the community or around others?

• What questions do you have?

• Please share any other important information about yourself so we know how to best support your growth.
