Hi all,

I know I am opening this thread a bit early (since events don't come out until May) *but* if you are one of our local GMs and you are facilitating a game a Gen Con I want to know. I'm also looking for recommendations for systems/GMs/events that you think I should try.

NOTE: I'm bringing my Dad and Sister along (both long term gamers) and this will be Dad's first EVER game convention so if there are can't miss classic Gen Con Events, lemme know. :)

Another con and I'll be 100% Pathfinder Society, but hey, that's what's getting me in the door for free all weekend, hahaha. As such, I'll be running some currently-unreleased scenarios as well as some exclusives.

Thursday, August 15
Slot 3 (1900-2400): #5-01(English Language)

Friday, August 16
Slot 4 (0800-1300): #4-14: My Enemy's Enemy
Slot 5 (1300-1800): #4-14: My Enemy's Enemy
Slot 6 (1900-2400): Gen Con Season 5 Special: Siege of Diamond City 1-5

Saturday, August 17
Slot 8 (1300-1800): #4-14: My Enemy's Enemy
Slot 9 (1900-2400): #5-01(English Language)

Sunday, August 18
Slot 10 (0900-1400): #4-23: Rivalry's End

I posted this in another thread, but figured I could advertise it here.

I am looking for someone to drive with to split the cost of fuel for the near 16-hour drive.

Additionally, I'm looking for someone to split a room with. If we're driving, we would have a motor to get to and from the con each day.

A few details:
Driving:
- I am willing to drive my car, Nissan hatchback, Automatic transmission (important if we need to switch drivers). It has room for 4 people, though we may need one of those seats for luggage and supplies.
- I am going to be there the whole weekend, so will head out the day before and start back the day after (or after the con if we want to stop for the night part way back).
- I am GMing 4 different scenarios at 7 slots, so will be bringing some GMing supplies and maps, which may take a little more room in the car. Little.
- Fair warning: I do another hobby called Geocaching. There's a big milestone geocache not 500 feet off the freeway in Kansas, the oldest active cache. It's not out of the way, but a stop I'd greatly like to make, so please bear with me.

Lodging:
- Currently have eyes on a couple Super 8's in the area, highest being $75/night. Also one at $63/night. They are 4.7 miles and 6 miles away from the con.
- Open to other suggestions. I've never been one to spend a bunch of money on a huge luxurious room that I'm just gonna sleep in and that's it. So long as it's clean and doesn't smell like le'se, it'll do.

Reply in the other thread or contact me off-boards if you're interested.

There's True Dungeon, a sort of live-action, larp, dungeon-crawl experience. It's pricy, but it's worth checking out once. If you want to go as a group, you need to pounce on the tickets right when they go on sale.

I'm going to be helping out at Games on Demand as I have in previous years. I usually don't buy many tickets. Instead I just hang out with friends and run/play games with them.

Tresi, I've done True Dungeon and took my sister last year. It was okay, but for me it wasn't worth the $38/ticket.

I think I'm going to talk my family into Games on Demand, I love the indie RPGs I've played and I think pulling my Dad into a Fiasco would be a kick!

I'm also going to bend over backwards to get us into a Dread game and my favorite game the two time I've gone to GenCon has been the Saturday Midnight Zombie Team Game (AFMBE) rules lite, drinking encouraged. :)

Finally, we were also in a steampunk LARP last year called "Paris in the Spring" and the follow up this year is described as "Cthulhu meets Willy Wonka" which means we'll probably be there again, too.
