A raw vegan potluck alternative for those who wish to celebrate the Christmas holiday without the ham, turkey or roast beef!
Come enjoy good food and company in the comfort of a cozy home. Please bring a raw vegan dish of your choice to feed four (no animal products, fish, poultry, milk, eggs, or honey) and your recipe to share. I will provide a "neat"-loaf and one raw dessert.
RSVP no later than Dec 23rd so I can plan accordingly.
What is raw food?
Raw food is nature’s food – food that grows on trees, vines, or in the ground and is uncooked, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted beans and grains. Raw food is free of animal products, organic, easy to digest, rich in enzymes, and highly nutritious. All of these delicious, natural foods are consumed whole, chopped, blended, shredded, diced and juiced to make very tasty, and even gourmet, raw food meals.
Why eat raw food?
Whole, ripe, raw, organic foods in their natural state keep us healthy, vibrant and disease-free. Why? Live food contains live enzymes, which are needed to assist the body’s digestive enzymes in breaking down food into digestive proteins. Since raw foods are not heated above[masked] degrees, enzymes are not destroyed in the cooking process and are not toxic to the body. These foods retain an enormously higher nutrient value than cooked foods. When food is heated over[masked] degrees, enzymes are destroyed; thus, nutrients are not provided to the body.
