February Potluck and Aquafaba demo with Dale Ball!
NOTE: The optional aquafaba demonstration will be BEFORE the potluck. If you will be attending the demo, please arrive by 5:00 PM, and please pitch in a small additional donation to cover our guest's cost for materials. AQUAFABA DEMO: Watch the sketchy-looking liquid drained from a can of chickpeas transform into magical whipped fluffiness perfect for topping pies and cakes, creating chocolate mousses, ice cream, and even baking into meringue cookies. Aquafaba can also be used as an emulsion to make wonderful mayonnaise and butter. Dale will talk about the basics of using aquafaba and create the basic vanilla whipped topping for everyone to sample at this Meetup. Dale Ball has been cooking vegan for 12 years and gets super excited about all the amazing new plant-based products, recipes, and innovations that are helping people to go vegan and leave animals off their plates. She teaches classes in the Boulder area and is co-founder, along with Lynn Halpern, of the Vegan Dairy Fair. POTLUCK - WHAT TO BRING: • A vegan, gluten-free vegan or raw-vegan dish (All vegan please: no meat, bacon, eggs, poultry, fish, dairy or honey) that serves 8 with a recipe card or list of ingredients. If you do not know what to bring, please contact Denver Vegans leadership. • Your own utensils and reusable place setting • $2.00 cash fee to cover our rental space We gather at 6:00 PM and eat at 6:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to get to know others in the group. For those who are new to veganism, welcome! Here is your chance to try lots of delicious vegan food We hope to see you there!
