The Holiday Project gathers people in the Denver area (as well as other U.S. cities) to help brighten the holidays of others by caroling and visiting residents in nursing homes, hospitals, youth facilities, and VA Facilities in their neighborhoods on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Afternoon. I've signed up to join the Holiday Project to visit patients at Lutheran Hospital on Christmas Day, and I hope a few of you will join me and hundreds of other community members as we share the spirit of Christmas by spending time with someone who might not otherwise have a visitor on this most festive day.
Most visits last an hour and fifteen minutes but may run longer. I have not reserved spots specifically for our group, but if you'd like to join me at Lutheran Hospital, you can sign-up via volunteermatch.org at http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp124297.jsp or by contacting the event coordinator, Max Acosta, directly at [masked] or 303.233.5321.
Not in the Wheat Ridge area? No problem! There is a long list of other facilities in the Denver area looking for volunteers to visit their residents/patients on Christmas and Christmas even including:
Cherry Creek Nursing Center (Aurora), Mesa Vista of Boulder (Boulder), Porter Adventist Hospital (Denver), North Star Community (Denver), VA Medical & Community Living Center (Denver), Holly Heights Nursing Care Center (Denver), Highline Rehabilitation & Care Community (Denver), Julia Temple Center (Engelwood), Pearl Street Health & Rehabilitation (Englewood), The Center at Lincoln (Parker), and Alpine Living Center (Thorton)
If you would like to sign-up to visit one of these alternative locations, please go to The Holiday Projects page on volunteermatch.org (http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/org5916.jsp) and find your desired location in their "Volunteer Opportunities" list to sign-up at another location.
