South Valley Park after work (rescheduled), Fri. June 14 at 6 PM

A pleasant 2.8 mile loop through red sandstone outcrops after work on a Friday afternoon.  Meet at the North Lot for South Valley Park, in the southern Ken Caryl Valley.

We should take the Coyote Song and Swallow Trails, which are relatively level.

The website for South Valley Park is here:

Unfortunately, I have a bad cold and have decided to reschedule this walk to Friday of next week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If I can make it, can I bring my dog? If not, no worries - just thought it would be a great walk for him. Thanks

Yes, dogs are allowed in the Jefferson County open space.

I volunteer with Jeffco Open Space and dogs are welcome in all JCOS parks as long as they're on leash. The only exception is the designated dog off-leash area at Elk Meadow in Evergreen. Unfortunately, dogs get bitten by rattlesnakes every year in our parks because owners let them run loose off-trail. Very sad.

It's actually 2.8 miles round trip between the north and south parking lots with the Coyote Song and Swallow Trails, but it looks fairly gentle. Some of the best outcrops are also near the south parking lot as well.
