Gut Check - Denver Broncos vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It was best said last week on NFL.com about the win against KC "The Denver Broncos survived. Late in the year, playing on the road at Arrowhead, that qualifies as a successful weekend. Just ask the 2011 Green Bay Packers" last year, the Green Bay Packers had 1 loss and it was to KC at Arrowhead. Despite their abysmal record, Arrowhead is still one of the toughest places to play, KC has a decent defense, and Romeo Crennel has always known how to play manning. Despite all that we come away with a win and move on to another tough test.

Tampa Bay has a very dynamic offense starting with the running again with Doug Martin and that is where the focus of the defense will be. Josh Freeman fuels off the play action and the threat of the run, stop the run and you stop the Buccaneers. The offense is much like that of Carolina in facing Newton who likes to roll out of the pocket and pass on the run. Key for the defensive line is to not over persue but to contain and cut off options. Champ Bailey and Vincent Jackson have faced off many times and is a very even contest. Champ will clearly be on Jackson no matter where he is on the field and he is still a very big threat.

The Broncos offense in this game goes throught Peyton as the Bucs have a good run defense but rank virtually last in pass defense. I expect this offensive matchup to look a lot like when we played new orleans. Spread them out and confuse them with quick passes out of manning. The Bucs also don't have a very good pass rush so protecting manning shouldn't require an extra tight end or running back. Moreno did extremely well against a stout run defense and has fresh legs and plently of gas. Hopefully he can continue to ignite the play action play running game.

I hope to see you all Sunday for this all important game, as always:

I am a Broncos fan and I believe. I believe in Mile High Magic and Bleed Orange and Blue. I celebrate the drive and the Mile High Salute. I create the THUNDER, share in the common dream and will forever be a proud citizen of BRONCOS COUNTRY

Great win today for Bronco's Country....Peyton Manning is the best - throwing a first down pass to a guy on the ground........telling the crowd to shut up so he can do his job??? This guy is the best!! And the Ravens look to be laying an egg......hmmmmm. Ticket prices are coming down! WE CREATE THE THUNDER!!!!!!
