• Dads at Book Club

    Online event

I started this book club last year for dads. We have a Facebook group for discussion and make links for the Zoom discussion.

We read about a book a month and meet via Zoom every two weeks.

Feel free to join the FB group and this date is the first meeting for Gates of Eden by Ethan Cohen. Well read to page 133.

We officially start the book tomorrow may 27.

  • Splash Park fun at E.B. Rains

    E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park

I live up north and this park is great. Has an awesome toddler area, then a playground for a bit older kids but still toddler friendly.

Plus a small splash pad area for the kids to go crazy in.

If you have older kids their is a skate park.

There’s plenty of seating and picnic tables nearby. It does have bathrooms, and they were open a few weeks ago.

The park is near I25 and 120th. Parking lot right behind the park so very short walk.

There’s a Starbucks and a couple restaurants nearby if you needed to grab lunch after.

Cost is free for kids under 5, $2/person over 5 (Kids over 5 can get a MyDenver pass and use for free). Food and beverages are permitted. We will set up picnic blankets on the grass along the nw corner of the pool area.

  • Dads At Volunteer Opportunity.

    River Run Park

This is an event by Clear Cascade. I wanted to share as our own Devin Laming has started this non-profit to help improve our watersheds.

Sounds like after cleanup their will be a lot of fun if you stick around. Bring your water guns for the after clean up celbration!

    From their Facebook…
We will be catching litter and releasing it back into it's proper refuse stream!
In cleaning up a stretch of the South Platte River and it's tributaries we will be able to create meaningful change in the ecosystem.

    Westminster Center Park

Well we not be transported but this is as close as you can get. Westminster Center Park, aka Peter Pan Park, is a blast.

Big play structures, a big splash pad and a little river to splash in.

It gets crowded so hopefully getting early we can nab a decent spot. Bring snacks and lunch, towels and change of clothes, swimsuit, sunscreen.

There is seating if we can get otherwise bring a chair.
