Short-term opportunity for a Java developer in continuing engineering role. Task is to complete two programs that are fundamentally working but need UI and speed improvements. Fun project. There will be follow-on work for the right person. This is an in-house position. You must live within commuting distance to be considered

We are an established contract engineering firm with a wide range of interests and experience.

Requirements:
• Java experience sufficient to do continuing engineering quickly; we will want you to demonstrate that ability.
• NetBeans IDE and/or Eclipse
• UI design sense to make interface intuitive, nice to use. We'd like someone who likes to make things look good and skilled on the engineering side.
• USB-serial interface skill: currently functions with our custom hardware but is slow.
• Knack for debugging; resourceful attitude
• Like to investigate and solve problems.


Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation.
• Be proficient with software development tools
• Be proficient with programming languages.
• Quickly apply general principles to applications in a wide variety of environments.
• Possess a thorough understanding of development tools and office productivity tools to work as efficiently as possible.

Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizen
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Education and experience (3+ years)
• Ability to quickly analyze and understand legacy systems.

Location: Broomfield, CO
