History - How It All Began

I was enjoying my Spring 2007 Sat/Sun leagues until I realized that there were no games on Memorial day weekend. I was unsure of how to quench my thirst for Soccer that weekend. So I decided to set up my own games at a nearby park using Craigslist to recruit, and MS Outlook to manage communications. The games were a big success, and attendees pummeled me with questions about then the next one would be. Seeing the demand for Adult Soccer, plus seeing that I could learn a lot of new skills, get exercise, meet people with similar interests, etc, I decided to keep it going. Not only would I get more practice, but my league teammates could join in, and I could recruit/be recruited by people at the meetups. It was a win-win situation.

I tried using Google groups for a while, but they had a clunky interface, no group calendar, and no event reminder feature. Plus there wasn't a photo album feature. So, when I got the offer to for a discounted membership, I jumped on and haven't looked back.

The Soccer scrimmage games originally started on Sundays, then I added Saturdays for my Saturday team to practice, then I added Tuesdays to supplement my friend team ( Have Potential ) scrimmages, then I added Wednesdays when Tuedays became to crowded.

People came from the old Google list, my friend Kevin's Falcon park scrimmage group, itself, from my league teams, friends of members, passers-by, and from the flyers that I recently began to post at work and Starbucks. As the group grows, I am hoping to get sponsors to fund things like renting fields, buying equipment, and supplying us with give away items as an added benefit to members.
