WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING REQUESTS TO JOIN DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC UNLESS INTRODUCED BY AN EXISTING MEMBER
We are a long standing club (over 30 years) with the objective of providing the opportunity for members to meet new people, try new things and to socialise and have fun in a safe and welcoming environment.
Unlike most groups on here, we charge a membership fee (£10 a year) which gives us the ability to underwrite and organise events such as dances, holidays, coach trips, etc. We have a very broad range of events and activities, ranging from pub nights, meals and theater trips through to Abseiling, Cycling, Canoeing, Walking and a book club. We welcome and encourage members to introduce us to new things. A committee of elected members deal with the admin of the club but the events are run for and by the entire membership.
HOW TO JOIN - Come along to one of our "Club Nights“, where we invite anyone interested in finding out more about us to come along and meet us and provide basic contact details. You’ll get the chance to meet members, ask any questions you might have and find out much more about us. You become an temporary member (no fees) for three months and we ask you to attend 6 events to get to know us (and us to meet you), before deciding if you wish to become a full member.
Club Nights - 8.30 pm on Second & Fourth Wednesday of every month. (Currently suspended due to Covid) at the Flower Pot, King St. Derby. You’ll find us in the room on the left just past the bar, or in summer we may be in the beer garden. Wherever we are, we have a sign on a table to help you find us.
We do require new members to use their normal name and family name, and to use a clear, recent passport style photo. This is to ensure members can recognise other members at events in public spaces.
