Pleasant Paddlers Program - Sunset & Full Moon "Easy" Paddle
This is for information only, this is a park program. If you ever wanted to glide across the water under the moonlight, here is your chance. Whether you already have your own kayak or need to rent one, this program is for people who enjoy a slower pace, stay together, under four miles, three hours, keep near the shoreline, and social type of paddle. You can bring your own paddle craft or you can rent a kayak from South by Southwest Adventures! They will supply the kayak, paddle and life vest. All you have to do is call ahead and rent it at South by Southwest[masked]. They will bring your kayak right to you where we launch for the program, how cool is that! Depending on the weather, we will search out fun coves but keep it tame for all you new comers. LIFE VEST MUST BE WARN AT ALL TIMES ON THE WATER. YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE FLASHLIGHT OR OTHER LIGHT ON YOUR PADDLCRAFT, AND YOU MUST HAVE A WHISTLE. Bring some water and a snack too to keep you going. Dress to get wet and for the weather. There is a $7 per vehicle and $2 per paddle craft park entrance fee, so bring cash. This paddle will meet near the 4-lane boat ramp area, just follow the “Pleasant Paddlers” signs to the put-in area, once near the park. Questions call Terry[masked]

What we're about

Public Group

Welcome to Desert Mountain Paddlers!

We hope to become your meet-up group for safe and fun kayaking & canoeing events throughout the year.

Located in Central Arizona, we will most often paddle the Salt and Verde River Reservoirs and for those desiring moving water, the Salt and Verde Rivers themselves. Rim Lakes are potential paddling destinations during those hot summer months.

All skill levels are welcome, from beginner to expert. With several rental companies in the Valley, owning a kayak is not a requirement for membership in Desert Mountain Paddlers. See our rental listings under Pages/Resources.

We do welcome children and pets at the discretion of the event host. The nature of some events may mean that it would not be appropriate for them to attend.

Though we will initially be focused on offering paddling events, we hope to add additional outdoor activities as the year progresses. These would include, but not limited to, hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, fishing, bird watching, and camping both in Arizona and in neighboring states.

If at this first visit, you do not see anything to your liking, check back often!
