A grand celebration. The champagne and hors d'ovres were phenomenal. And I did not fall in the drink. Thanks, Ron!!

It was a great day for paddling with the group. Some newbies, and some experienced paddlers who decided to take a swim - you know who you are :-) I can only hope that the next 100 events are as good as the 1st 100 - thank you for the pictures!

A GREAT day for my first river run of the season! The weather was cool & the horses were out. The water levels were high enough that rapids & rocks were not an issue. And best of all, despite the fact that at first I lamented that barely any of the members I knew were coming, it made for the best part of the day; meeting many new faces, some first time Salt River paddlers & some who got caught up in the conversation & ended up backwards even with trees rapidly approaching, Ben ; )

Barbara - we are usually at the take-out around noon
only 1 rough spot and there is a smoother option for beginners
Lorrie - if you want your vehicle at the take-out at the finish it is best that you are there at 6
all - i'll check friday evening for more questions if you have them

We will prob be camping in Usery Mtn Park Friday night. Look for silver Nissan pickup truck if anyone needs to share a space and split the rent ($25).

How long a paddle? Miles and time.
How rough/ not rough the water?
Anyone coming 4am from up north( Prescott or Cortes along 1-17?) thx Barbara

Usery Mountain Regional Park is not too far away. It may be too hot to hang out there during the day but it would be OK for the night before though it's not right there at the putin.

Joann - not really - too many people - too hot - and I think not allowed by the FS in summer - We paddle this as a day trip

    May 12, 2012

  • Joann C.

Is there a good camping area around where we are going to put in at?
