What if Santa Fe did planning?!! What would that process look like? Bring IDEAS!
In addition to taking next steps on creating a sustainable living cohousing in Santa Fe, we will be setting up the action plan for a Community Planning Process. At last night's meeting, we concluded Santa Fe does not do planning. We do building review. The Planning Department doesn't plan, the Planning Commision doesn't do planning. As advocates for Sustainable Community Living, we know we have to plan for sustainability. FAILURE TO PLAN, IS PLANNING TO FAIL. From what we've gathered and experienced, a top down process doesn't generate a community-wide participation and resulting buy in. Nor does it get social, economic, and ecological sustainability. So what is the empowering process that is required at these times of rapid change and unprecedented challenges? What is the ongoing, equitable planning processes that lead to great community and neighborhoods? Google it! Search the internet, bring your ideas and what works to the meeting and let's create a future that works wonderfully for all of us. Apples, cheese and almonds will be served!

What we're about

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead said it, I want to be a part of such a group, and you're invited to join in! Maybe you, like me, are sick and tired of waiting for the paradigm to shift. Bring your ideas, passion, and perseverance and together we can design and build innovative, mixed-use, sustainable neighborhoods that more affordable live lightly on the planet.
