What we're about

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead said it, I want to be a part of such a group, and you're invited to join in! Maybe you, like me, are sick and tired of waiting for the paradigm to shift. Bring your ideas, passion, and perseverance and together we can design and build innovative, mixed-use, sustainable neighborhoods that more affordably live lightly on the planet.

Building a Neighborhood's Vision and taking Actions toward Sustainability

Higher Education Learning Center

These are incredible times! How do we create the change we dream about? Claudia and I just returned from an Asset-Based Community Development training (ABCD) in Chicago. Gathering and building off of the skills and areas of interest/passion of the neighbors has proven to be a powerful way to empower and change the community. In one city, each Block Connector is responsible for surveying the 20 households around her. The info is put into a secure data base, and connections grow. These tools, questionnaires, software, and hosting servers are all set up and open sourced. "Heck!" I say, "I don't even know my neighbors." Yep, We're learning how to do this. Join in, and we'll learn together!

Help design a Midtown mixed-use, mixed-income sustainable neighborhood !

Higher Education Learning Center

Join in! We're beginning the planning of a state of the art sustainable neighborhood demonstration site on 5 acres on Siringo Rd. How low a cost of living, along with how low an eco-footprint and how high a quality of life can we create? What is the curriculum that puts our kids in the center of the planning, design and development? It's time for Santa Fe to work together to answer these questions and create a great Midtown place to live, work, learn, shop, and play; a neighborhood that's good for people and good for the Planet. Apples, cheese and almonds will be served!
