Calling all design thinkers, product people, and the design curious. The Design Sprint SV group is excited to invite you to our second South Bay meetup.
June 19, 2019 — 6:30pm - 9pm
345 Park Avenue
San Jose, CA 95110
## Why should you attend?
For this session, we’re taking an interactive approach — leading you through two workshop style exercises to help build your design thinking skills.
## MJ Broadbent presents The Human Landscape.
Think about your work. Could you draw a map that illustrates who, when, and how you interact with the people involved? This is called a stakeholder map. Stakeholders are not just the sponsors, funders, and authority figures in a project; they are all the people involved in your work.
In this interactive session, you’ll learn how to easily create a stakeholder map — and how you can best use it in your work. A stakeholder map visually captures the people involved in a project and clarifies the most important ones. This map gives you the insight to create better alliances to work more effectively.
## Hands on Workshop — Ask The Experts & Reframing Problems as Opportunities
Last meetup we heard you loud and clear… You want hands on training for running design sprints. We’re here to help!
In this first of a multi-part series, The Design Sprint Silicon Valley team will provide material and lead participants through Day One sprint exercises. We’ll help you understand how to research a problem space, form How Might We questions, and then assist in reframing those problems as opportunities. Performing these exercises are critical in building shared understanding and laying the foundation for other sprint activities.
!!! Space is limited !!!
Due to the hands-on nature of these activities, space at this meetup is limited to 25 participants. These seats will fill up quickly, so please be sure that you reserve your spot and plan to attend the day of the meetup.
6:30pm — Doors Open, Networking
7:00pm — Intro to Design Sprint SV
7:10pm — MJ Broadbent — The Human Landscape & Workshop
7:55pm — Hands on Workshop — Ask The Experts, Reframing Problems as Opportunities
9:00pm — Conclusion
Parking: Feel free to park in the guest parking lot at the Adobe office. The front gate security will help direct you. Then, head to the East Tower lobby to pick up your badge. An organizer will be there to meet you and walk you over to the space. Please email [masked] if you have any questions.
Design Sprint Silicon Valley is focused on bringing together South Bay design thinkers to share techniques that expand your design practice, help create better products, and devise creative solutions to help shape our world. While the majority of us are designers by trade, anyone interested in design techniques is open to attend, contribute, and share!
